Nubya Garcia (born 1991) is an award-winning British saxophonist, composer and bandleader, heralded as one of the driving forces of the new UK jazz scene.

Born in London to Guyanese-British-Trinidadian parents, Garcia first learned playing violin and viola as a child and switched to saxophone at age 10. In 2016, she graduated with honours from music college, releasing her first EP “Nubya’s 5ive” the following year. A member of the collective Nérija and the ensemble Maisha, Garcia played numerous festivals, concert halls and sold-out headliner shows. Her lauded debut solo album “Source” was released in 2020 and got shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, following it up with “Odyssey” in 2024. Her own band notably performed at the 2021 BBC Proms.
