Chris Botti (born 1962) is an American trumpet player and composer, known for his orchestral albums and collaborations with Paul Simon, Sting, and Andrea Bocelli.

Botti was born in Portland and began playing trumpet aged nine. After graduating, he moved to New York, where he worked as an in-demand studio musician. In the 1990s, he worked and toured with Paul Simon, and began his recording career with Verve. His third album “Slowing Down The World” featured vocal contributions from Sting and kick-started a long-running friendship and collaboration. His tenth studio album “Impressions” won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album, and his balance of classical, opera, jazz and pop has received critical acclaim.
